As many of you know, I don’t “Beat” for a living.  I love it and it’s fun but I still have to get up and go to work and just pray that I can get by with a “Light Beat” on everyday.  In my spare time I also started a PR company with my friend Zerline, Media Mingle.  Media Mingle is a boutique PR firm that specializes in helping businesses and non-profit organizations with their media strategies and public relations initiatives.  We also host 6-Minute Media Mingles throughout the city to bring media folks and businesses together so they can meet, chat, and network in a speed networking format.

So I had the pleasure of hosting my last Media Mingle at the Ted Gibson Hela Spa Salon in Chevy Chase Md.  Ted Gibson is one of the most sought-after editorial, runway, and celebrity hairstylists in the business.  His work has appeared in publications such as Vogue, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, and Allure.  Ted is perhaps most known for working with celebritiies including Angelina Jolie, Amanda Bynes, Demi Moore, Renee Zellweger, Joy Bryant, Anne Hathaway, Elettra Rossellini, Claire Danes, Gabrielle Union, Vanessa Carlton, Debra Messing, Kate Walsh, and Marion Cottilard.

Ted has a  very talented staff and two of his prominent staffers are contributors to LA Beauty Beat.  Our resident esthetician,  Joelle and celebrity hair stylist, Adrin. Don’t forget to send them questions here.

I was excited to bring Media Mingle, Hela Spa and LA Beauty Beat together.  Guests included beauty writers, bloggers, and PR professionals as well as potential new clients.  They all had the opportunity to tour the salon, sample products, and ask all the stylists, massage therapists, and esthetician questions about their craft.
