JoElle is back with a special Valentine’s Day gift for us, some great tips to help get sexy, supple skin.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, here are some sexy skin secrets to keep your skin soft and smooth for you and your sweetie.
If you want soft skin find a good facial exfoliate scrub. An exfoliate will take off rough, dry skin, leaving a smooth, soft surface. The important thing to remember about exfoliates is that more is not better. Use an exfoliate 2-3 times a week, giving your skin time to regenerate in between. Use products that have Alpha Hydroxy Acid in the ingredients. AHA’s give your skin a fresh, new, softer appearance.
If you want luscious lips, perfect your pout by putting a thick coating of petroleum jelly all over your lips. Let it sit there for about 2 minutes. The longer the better. Gently buff your lips with a moist, clean toothbrush. Scrub in soft circles for another 2 minutes. After you’re done scrubbing, take a Kleenex or dry wash cloth and wipe off your lips. Now you should have soft kissable lips. Make sure to apply a good amount of lip balm so that the bristles don’t feel too rough against your delicate skin. Finish it off with a great lip gloss
Make sure your body’s skin is soft and supple. Exfoliate your skin in a warm steamy shower. Before getting into the shower, dry brush your skin with a brush. Use one that does not have too hard of bristles. Use soft circular strokes as well. Whenever you shower or bathe always use exfoliating gloves. Dead skin cells have a rough, dull feeling. Exfoliation is really the most important thing you can do for soft skin. Also, make sure you are using a good and creamy body wash. You don’t want to use soap; it is very harsh and drying to your skin. After getting out of the shower, towel off lightly with a soft towel. Then immediately add your lotion to your skin. This will ensure that you get the most from your lotion. You want your skin to be damp and still warm to the touch so the lotion can do the best it can.
Once a week, take an oil bath. You want your bath to just be warm, never hot. Hot water will dry out and damage your skin. Add one cup of baby oil to the tub, and soak for 15 minutes. Rinse off then apply the lotion in the same manner as above. Apply an intensive cream to any especially rough patches of skin, such as your knees, feet and elbows.
To get rid of the icky callused skin you’ve been hiding under your socks and boots, submerge your feet in a bowl of grapefruit, orange, or lemon juice (you can use one or a combo of the three) diluted with equal parts warm water. The citrus acid loosens up dead skin better than a regular soak does. After 5 minutes, slough your heels and the balls of your feet with a pumice stone, and then massage your entire foot with an oil-based sugar scrub. Rinse it off, and slather on a body or foot balm.
Most importantly, wearing a confident sexy attitude is what will really have your skin looking hot and sexy on Valentine’s Day!
