My 80′s BEAT

My friend Z had an 80′s party for her birthday over the weekend. It was a lot of fun. We all dressed in our interpretations of 80′s garb. You know… leggings, shell toe adidas, metallic skirts, side ponytails and more. Check out my sneakers-

Of course with the fashion came the makeup and boy was I excited. I started doing some research online (just google) and found great pics of Jodi Whatley, Cyndi Lauper, Mary Jane Girls and the list goes on…. *side eye* for the young beaters who are thinking “who are they?” LOL
For the younger crowd just look at Pink or Rihanna. Their looks have 80′s themed trends in them….aka asymmetrical hair, mohawks, etc…

Anyway, the make up was very dramatic. Big bold colors – ice blues, bold pinks and greens. Lots of liner and tons of glitter. Eyes and lips were overstated and popped.

I wasn’t ready to go that far, however I wanted to be as authentic as a I could while keeping my BEAT in check. I decided to go for a semi dramatic eye, blushed cheeks and a glossy lip.

My 80s Beat consisted of:

Prescriptive foundation

Cover Girl bronzer and blush

Smashbox eye shadow

Maybelline mascara

glitter by MAC

lipliner and lipstain by Cover Girl

So ladies we had a blast, great music, twister, garbage pail kids, food and treats. We reminisced
about movies, tv shows, music, name chains, three-finger rings… the list goes on. I wonder what will happen at 10s (2010) parties.
