I have been wanting a wedding cake card box. You can easily buy them but they start at $75. That’s well over my budget. I am not a DIY person so I kinda gave up. I went to Michael’s and bought the satin card box and was going to call it a day. It’s been riding around in my trunk for almost two weeks and I didn’t take it out of the car because I didn’t really want it. My heart was set on my cake box. So I turned to youtube to see if I could find an easy tutorial video to help me create my box. They were very complicated with box construction, exacto knives, etc…..
I knew there had to be some folks like me that have a vision but have found a short cut to get what they want. I started to look up forums on weddingwire.com and came across folks who took a pre existing cake box and added their flair. They even gave a link to purchase the box and warned that you have to put your spin on it.
This is the original box
As you can see, not that cute…borderline tacky. She needed a face-lift. She actually needed a Beauty Beat!!!!
So I went back to Michael’s to get some “make-up” and accessories for her. Her beat consisted of the following: 2 cans of silver glitter spray paint, purple ribbons, ivory and purple flowers, rubber cement and super glue.
I laid her on two black trash bags in the garage and gave her the beat of her life!!!! I am soo happy with the results especially for about $35 !!!!

I can’t believe you did this! Can’t wait to see it in person. I know who to turn to for my kids’ art projects now!
Can you make another?
OMG, that’s sooooo cute! I love it and I, too, can’t wait to see it in person!
WOW!! Can’t wait to see it! That’s another wonderful idea.

Awesome job sis. Congrats on the upcoming nuptials. Q
