Christmas is truly a season of giving. Sadly, I LOVE to get as much as I love to give. It’s terrible, I know, but honest. Sears has removed some of my the guilt by offering me a shopping challenge. I received $75 e-card to create a new look. When I think of Sears the first thing that comes to mind is a lawn mower or a refrigerator, so I was a bit hesitant. I started to do some research about the brands that Sears carries and I was pleasantly surprised.
The first brand that caught my eye was Land’s End. Very classic, quality pieces. Lots of plaids, cardigans, oxford shirts, etc…. Great style. I couldn’t resist and bought these shoes, Emma Classic Captoe Ballet Flat. They have nothing to do with my style challenge, but an honorable mention at 23.99 on sale.
The line that I was really fond of was the UK Style by French Connection. The line is very fresh, cool and stays true to the French Connection brand but at a much lower price point. I liked the edgy tops and funky skirts and dresses. If you like the modern, British look you will absolutely love UK Style. The pieces are really separates and lend themselves to lots of mixing and matching. $75 bucks went a long way in this collection and especially when everything was on sale. Here’s what I came up with from the UK Style Collection:
Orig: $36
Sale : $22
Great top, with cool neck. I chose to wear off the shoulder and it was haute!!!!
Orig $48
Sale :23.99
Wool, pleated skirt with creams, white and black plaid. School-girl cuteness, great with tights and boots.
Orig: $29
Sale:14.99
Loved the thin and stretchiness of the material. I hate a bulky turtleneck. The puffy sleeves are super cute and adds a little flair to a traditional staple.
As I was walking out of the store, this great maxi skirt by Apostrophe grabbed my attention and I threw that in the cart as well. I liked the how long it was and the brown and black stripes. It was on sale for 23.99 so I was SOLD
So I went over by budget by $8 dollars, but I got two outfits that can be multiplied when I pair with items in my closet. Below are some shots of my two new looks. Merry Christmas to me…AGAIN and AGAIN
